What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Visitors to our website

When someone visits www.joclarkmassagetherapy.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will clearly state this, for example, in the form of a sign up button for newsletters which will ask for your contact details.

We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it, how we will store it and how long we intend to store it for.

Newsletter sign up

When you register for our newsletter, we collect personal information. We use this information to tell you about new products or treatments, to contact you if we need to obtain additional information, to check our records are right and to ask your views on our offer.

We do not rent or trade email lists with other organisations or businesses.

We use a third party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice.

You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails.

Treatment Records

If you come to us for treatments, we will ask you to complete a questionnaire prior to your first treatment and will update this on each visit with notes of changes to health data and treatments received. This record is regarded as confidential data and is held accordingly. We will confidentially and securely retain this data for 7 years after the date of your last treatment unless you request that we delete it prior to this. If you wish to request that your records are deleted, please let us know.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year.
